Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: March 30, 2026
Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the NoTemp.email API and related services. This policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service and applies to all users, whether on a free or paid plan.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates this policy.
Permitted Use
The NoTemp.email API is designed for legitimate email validation use cases, including:
- Checking whether an email address belongs to a disposable/temporary email provider during user registration
- Validating email addresses in form submissions, lead generation, and newsletter signups
- Integrating temp email detection into your application’s authentication or verification workflow
- Batch validation of email lists for data quality purposes
Prohibited Conduct
You must not use the Service to:
- Circumvent rate limits: Creating multiple accounts, cycling API keys, or using automated systems to exceed the quotas of your plan
- Resell or redistribute: Offering the API results as your own service, reselling access, or building a competing product that primarily wraps our API
- Scrape or harvest: Attempting to extract, scrape, or reverse-engineer our domain database or detection logic
- Abuse or attack: Sending malicious payloads, attempting to exploit vulnerabilities, or performing denial-of-service attacks against the Service
- Discriminate: Using the Service to discriminate against individuals or groups based on the email provider they use, in violation of applicable anti-discrimination laws
- Spam or phishing: Using the Service in connection with sending unsolicited emails, phishing campaigns, or other forms of spam
- Illegal activity: Using the Service for any purpose that violates applicable local, national, or international laws
API Key Security
You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure. Specifically:
- Do not embed API keys in client-side code, public repositories, or mobile applications
- Do not share API keys between different organizations or projects without authorization
- Rotate or revoke API keys immediately if you suspect they have been compromised
- Use environment variables or secrets management tools to store API keys
Rate Limits & Fair Use
Each plan has defined rate limits. If you consistently exceed your plan’s limits, we may throttle your requests, require you to upgrade, or suspend your access. Burst traffic is generally tolerated within reasonable bounds.
If you anticipate a significant spike in usage (e.g., a large batch import), please contact us in advance at support@notemp.email so we can accommodate your needs.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in one or more of the following actions, at our sole discretion:
- Warning notification via email
- Temporary suspension of API access
- Permanent termination of your account
- Reporting to law enforcement if illegal activity is suspected
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except in cases of severe or ongoing abuse that require immediate response.
Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any misuse of the Service, please report it to support@notemp.email.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
